Set at Chijmes, this wedding keeps to a single colour and a single mood. The couple wanted something elegant and simple, so the design stays entirely white, white hydrangea, orchids, calla lilies and roses built onto tall white plinths and softened everywhere by draping and candlelight. Sheer fabric falls from the plinths to the floor and pools of pillar candles sit at every level, so the flowers seem to float in a warm glow rather than sit on a stage. The Gothic chapel does the rest, its arches, columns and stained glass windows framing the white arrangements and giving the room its quiet, sophisticated feel. There is no second colour and no hard edge anywhere, just white blooms, soft fabric and candle flame carrying the evening. It is restraint used as the statement, calm, luminous and deeply romantic.
